My rules for success: 

Rule 1 – Communication is the most important thing. No one is more important the the person you are talking to.

Rule 2 – If you want something , think for your boss. You are more likely to receive approval if you have done the research and made sure that all the “i”s are dotted and the “t”s are crossed. Take all the guess work out of the request.

Rule 3 – Go, until someone tells you to stop. Be proactive and don’t wait to be told to do productive work, find it yourself. Keep working on that until someone superior to you tasks you with another job.

Rule 4 – Prepare yourself for success. Before you start something make sure that you are totally ready for a positive approach to the project.

Rule 5 – Always maintain a sense of humor.

Rule 6 – Don’t do bad things

I am proud to be a United States Coast Guardsman.
